Brad Pitt is set to go onboard a train for his next film as he’s set to star in Bullet Train. The action thriller set to be directed by David Leitch (Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.).

Variety are reporting this one, which Pitt is set to lead the cast in. The film is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by best-selling author Kotaro Isaka.

What we can get on the synopsis of the book, it concerns with five assassins that all find themselves on the same train from Tokyo to Morioka (a city in the north of Japan). The English language version of the novel is set to be published in 2021. From what we know it won’t end well for the assassins nor the passengers that get in their way. At this stage we don’t know why they are on the train. Could we be looking at a Non-Stop or Speed style film or even a Hotel Artemis on a train?

Zak Olkewicz will be writing the script with Leitch supervising. The pair worked together on Hobbs & Shaw and will be hoping this one might deliver a film more critical success. Antoine Fuqua was originally set to direct but will now produce with Kelly McCormick and Kat Samick via 87North.

Brad Pitt next gig was mean’t to be working on Damien Chazelle old Hollywood drama Babylon. The film was mean’t to start production later this year, however Paramount Pictures has delayed the production until 2021. Now Pitt has some ‘free time’ and Leitch will be hoping he’ll sign up for Bullet Train.

Don’t expect this one until at least late 2021 or Spring/Summer 2022.
