Bond homage in Ivy levan’s Spy music video

Although not actually a spy spoof, a lot of the promotional material for Spy, Paul Feig and Melissa McCarthy’s latest film, has been a parody of spy films of yesteryear, namely the James Bond series. This continues in the truly Bond-esque new music video from Ivy Levan’s Who Can You Trust, the title song from the film. The song could easily fit into any Bond film, and the video certainly ticks all the boxes, with moments such as parts of the film being projected onto a naked woman’s back, and lots of smoky and sultry silhouettes.

Synopsis: Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Jason Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.

Spy also stars Allison Janney, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and Miranda Hart and is released in the UK on 5th June.
