Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade Gets An UK Trailer

The buzz from Bo Burnham’s directorial feature debut, Eighth Grade since its Premiere at 2018 Sundance Film Festival has been astronomical. Here in Blighty we’ve waited patiently for a very long time with a brief tease last summer for Sundance London. Now over a year later the promotion for the UK release has started and today we have a UK Trailer.

A breakout hit of first timers with director and lead role Elsie Fisher as thirteen year old Kayla. Taking us on a journey of hormones, tribulations and awkwardness. As a middle school adolescent going through that time of their lives many of us want to forget about.

From the word go the trailer teases Kayla likes to give herself a lot advice but never practices what she preaches. She is very like her generation, never off her mobile or laptop, its like a solace to her. Fisher really captures those teenage moments with great authenticity which will charm your socks off…maybe even a laugh or smile or two.

The film won’t be pretend to be one of those big blockbusters, just a film that will genuinely remind you “I was there too”. A social media butterfly, ironically the platform where Bo Burnham made his name.

Thirteen-year-old Kayla endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school—the end of her thus far disastrous eighth grade year—before she begins high school.

Co-starring Josh Hamilton,and Emily Robinson.

Eighth Grade will be released in the UK and Irish from 26th April. The film will make one final Festival appearance, when it plays Glasgow Film Festival on 28th February and 1st March. Bo Burnham will be in attendance at one of the screenings [Book Here].
