From Warner Bros and DC comes this new and exciting animated batman epic! Out now on DVd and Blu-Ray
Batman is on the hunt for the escaped Joker, meanwhile the joker is terrorising the Gordon family retracing the steps that sent himself insane.
As I am not a comic book follower I am not the greatest judge on weather this is good in terms of relating to the original work so I am going to look at this from the stand point of every film I review.
I thought the animation was brilliant in this film, as you would expect from a DC film. However although I am not a comic book follower I need to admit this film was not great if you don’t have a general knowledge of the comics. I am a Batman fan, but the films more so. I looked at this film and was rather confused at times.
I found myself asking the people I was watching the film with what was going on as they are Batman comic followers.
In general though, I think that once you get past the origins of the film, you can really get right into it. I liked the story and I thought it was very strong and had me gripped so really not knowing about the comics, I guess is sort fo a good thing in a way, as I have nothing to base it off of.
I think this was a solid film, although I do think it is a disadvantage to have not read the comics, however I wouldn’t say this should stop Batman film fans from watching this. My only tip would be is possibly even have a little read online and get a little bit of knowledge before hand.
Totally enjoyable and worth the buy in my opinion the negatives aside of not being a follower of the comic books or the previous animated films. I am a massive advocate of going into a film clueless (excuse the pun) as I think it gives u a fairer judgement on the film. I know personally I have let feelings of origin stories get in the way of films before.
