Black Christmas Classic Slasher Gets Blumhouse Remake Watch Trailer

Yes folks Christmas might be the most wonderful time of the year. But for Christmas this year cinefiles, most of all Horrorfiles an old Cult classic, getting another Remake…Black Christmas.

Today Universal Pictures has released the First Trailer for the Blumhouse produced slasher. A killer prowls a sorority sisters house at Christmas, but this is one household the killer faces formidable resistance.

Let’s be honest we live in a era with remakes, reboots are normality. However how many times is too many times? This will be the second remake since the classic 1974 version. The first remake was in 2006, that was slicker more expensive, critically a mess. Will it be third time lucky? Blumhouse have captured the low budget formula perfectly, can they make it an success here?

Just in time for the holidays comes a timely take on a cult horror classic as a campus killer comes to face a formidable group of friends in sisterhood.

Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone (Imogen Poots, Green Room) and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters—athlete Marty (Lily Donoghue, The CW’s Jane the Virgin), rebel Kris (Aleyse Shannon, The CW’s Charmed), and foodie Jesse (Brittany O’Grady, Fox’s Star)—prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one.

As the body count rises, Riley and her squad start to question whether they can trust any man, including Marty’s beta-male boyfriend, Nate (Simon Mead, Same But Different: A True New Zealand Love Story), Riley’s new crush Landon (Caleb Eberhardt, Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle) or even esteemed classics instructor Professor Gelson (Cary Elwes).

The film stars Imogen Poots,Lily Donoghue, Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Simon Mead, Caleb Eberhardt and Cary Elwes. Sophia Takal (Always Shine) directs this one.
