Big trouble, Little sister as Universal Pictures release the UK Trailer for British comedy Polite Society. Bollywood razzle dazzle comes out ‘kung-fu’ kicking hijinks laughs.

Nida Manzoor‘s comedy with seen as an breakout success at it’s world premiere last month at Sundance film festival. Heading to UK cinemas in April via a festival or two, we get a first glimpse at that film.

We follow British Pakistani schoolgirl Ria (Priya Kansara) who is a bit of an expert in martial arts. She is a fighter and dreams of  one day having a career as a stuntwoman. Her big sister Lena (Ritu Arya) has dropped out of art school and is drifting in limbo until a whirlwind romance threatens to carry her off.

Synopsis | A merry mash up of sisterly affection, parental disappointment and bold action, POLITE SOCIETY follows martial artist-in-training Ria Khan who believes she must save her older sister Lena from her impending marriage. After enlisting the help of her friends, Ria attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood.

The film also stars Nimra Bucha, Akshay Khanna, Seraphina Beh,  and Ella Bruccoleri.

Polite Society will make it’s UK Premiere at next month’s Glasgow Film Festival. It will be the closing gala from 12th March [more info / book tickets]. If you can’t make the premiere it will make it’s cinema release on 28th April.
