When you have musical and Clint Eastwood in the same sentence it doesn’t really sit right, you want to paint your wagon ,but tonight it’s time to walk like a man as big girls don’t cry for UK Trailer for Jersey Boys.

If you look back in history Eastwood does actually have an unsong history in music, composing several film scores or songs so Jersey Boys is his first go at an music themed film. Can the iconic veteran actor turn director stop the rot of stage show come move adaptations?

Based around the hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys documenting the rise and fall of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. 4 young guys from the wrong side of the tracks of New Jersey to become one of the biggest musical acts of their generation. They influenced a generation with songs like ‘Big Girls Don’t’ , ‘Walk Like A Man’ and ‘Bye Bye Baby’.

Eastwood has went for a cast of unknowns for the Four Seasons and in the near 3 minute trailer he seems to have keep an aesthetic from the musical, each band member taking turns to narrate give their side of the story. Tonally you don’t really get that feel good feeling you do from stage musicals more grounded in realism, a little dreary but that’s Eastwood’s style. Will that cast of unknowns attract the audience or will they rely of the strength of the wonderfully back catalogue the Four Seasons have to offer? The director is a avid music fan so he yet surprise us all, well it does have Christopher Walken in it so that’s good enough for us.

The Jersey Boys will sing their ay into a UK cinema same day as U.S.A on 20th June starring John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza.
