BFI Releasing Stanley Kramer’s Judgement At Nuremberg On Blu-Ray

Judgement At Nuremberg (1961)

This gripping, provocative and powerful film sheds a controversial light on the darkest era in modern history. Winner of two Oscars, Judgement at Nuremberg features searing performances by an all-star cast including Maximilian Schell, Burt Lancaster, Marlene Dietrich and Judy Garland.

On 27 January 2020 the BFI will bring it to Blu-ray for the first time in the UK with numerous special features including a newly recorded audio commentary, short films and interviews.

American judge Daniel Haywood (Spencer Tracy) presides over the trial of four German jurists accused of โ€˜legalisingโ€™ Nazi atrocities. As graphic accounts of sterilisation and murder unfold in the courtroom, mounting political pressure for leniency forces Haywood into making the most harrowing and difficult decision of his career.

Nominated for 11 Oscars, it won Best Actor (Maximilian Schell) and Best Adapted Screenplay.

BFI have released a clip in which Judy Garland takes to the stand in Stanley Kramerโ€™s celebrated, all-star dramatisation of the post-war Nuremberg war crime trials…
