There’s something lurking at the bottom of the garden. In 2022 beware the locals (all of them!) and today Warner Bros warn us all with the release of the First UK Trailer for Unwelcome.
The creature feature horror is the latest film from Grabbers director Jon Wright. The film stars Hannah John-Kamen and Douglas Booth as an English couple escaping the urban nightmare for the tranquillity of rural Ireland. It will be if you remember the blood offering!
The film plays on the urban myths of Ireland, However a couple from an urban metropolis won’t be expecting some of those creatures lurking in their garden! They soon discover from their new friendly neighbour they share their new home with redcaps. Malevolent, murderous goblins living in the garden, always hungry but keep them happy offer a blood offering.
Grabbers took many us by surprise how highly entertaining it was. Now the cat is out the bag , fans of that film will be expecting the high standards and this trailer suggests they will get their wish!
UNWELCOME stars Hannah John-Kamen and Douglas Booth as a couple who escape their urban nightmare to the tranquility of rural Ireland only to discover malevolent, murderous goblins lurking in the gnarled, ancient wood at the foot of their new garden. Directed by Jon Wright, the film is based on an original screenplay by Mark Stay.
The film has also reunited the Grabbers creature team; including prosthetics by Shaune Harrison who has worked on some of the world’s highest grossing blockbusters including the Harry Potter films, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Avengers: Age of Ultron along with creature designs by Paul Catling (Maleficent, Thor, Fantastic Beasts) and longtime Wright collaborator VFX supervisor Paddy Eason (28 Weeks Later, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Grabbers).
The film also stars Colm Meaney, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Chris Walley and Kristian Nairn, Niamh Cusack.
Unwelcome doesn’t have a an exact UK or Irish cinema release date apart from ‘2022‘.
