The Naked Gun: The Best Quotes Of The Series (so far…), Selected By The TPM Team

Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun

The Naked Gun films are more than just classic comedies. They’re beloved by an entire generation who simply can’t get enough of Leslie Nielsen‘s peerless spoofing as Lt. Frank Drebin.

This summer, the gag-filled franchise is getting a reboot with a deadpan Liam Neeson in the lead role. He’s set to play Drebin’s son Frank Jr., with resurgent star Pamela Anderson taking over from Priscilla Presley as the resident love interest-sidekick. (Read our review here)

The movie is produced by Family Guy and Ted creator Seth MacFarlane, and directed by Akiva Schaffer (Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping). The trailer is ready to watch below.

To paraphrase Frank Drebin himself, when it comes to The Naked Gun series, we love it. So, we asked several members of The People’s Movies team to assemble their favourite quotes from the original trilogy. Here’s what they came back with.

Scott J. Davis

“Cuban?”

“No, Dutch-Irish. My father was from Wales.”

“Like, a blind man at an orgy, I was going to have to feel things out.”

“Isn’t that right, Mr… Poopypants?”

“Well, when I see five weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That’s my policy.”

“That was a Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar, you moron! You killed five actors. Good ones!”

Sean Wilson

“Your coat, sir?”

“Yes, it is. And I have a receipt to prove it.”

“Do you realise that because of you, this city is being overrun by baboons?”

“Well, isn’t that the fault of the voters?”

“He’s being held in the intensive care ward of Our Lady of the Worthless Miracle.”

Nick Barlett

“Caucasian, you know, a white guy. With a moustache, about 6 foot 3.”

“That’s an awfully big moustache.”

“What would he be doing in the red light district?”

“Sex, Frank?” “Uh, not right now, Ed. We’ve got work to do.”

“It’s the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girl dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Day.”

“Goodyear?”

“No, the worst.”

Paul Devine

“There’s nothing to see here. Please disperse!”

“Nice party, Hapsburg. I see a lot of familiar facelifts.”

The Naked Gun (2025) is released in cinemas on August 1st.
