Aylin Tezel On The Pain, Heartache, Love & Accomplishments Of Falling Into Place

A man and woman reunite in Falling Into Place

We speak to star/writer and director Aylin Tezel about her feature directorial debut, Falling Into Place, which is released in UK cinemas this month.

In our interview, we talk about the genesis of the project, why Tezel wanted to be the triple-threat of writer, director and lead, the up-and-down journey to get the film into the can, what she hopes people take away from the film and much more in between.

Kira and Ian – both in their mid-30s – meet on a winter weekend on the Isle of Skye. Both are on the run from their past as well as from the reality of their current lives. The 36 hours they spend together are characterised by fun and lightness. A deep, almost magical connection develops between the two strangers. Everything seems possible. But fate tears them apart again. They both return to London, unaware that they live in the same city. Often only a few minutes, meters and coincidences apart, Kira and Ian move through the pulsating city; they never meet. They first have to face their demons before they are ready to really find each other.

Written and directed by  Tezel, and starring Tezel, Chris Fulton, Alexandra Dowling, Samuel Anderson, Rory Fleck Byrne, Anna Russell Martin, Mike Noble and Olwen Fouére.

Falling Into Place opens in UK cinemas on June 6th.
