Art Avengers Assemble In The First The Monuments Men Trailer

Art Avengers Assemble! No it’s not Sky Arts presenters come superheroes but The Monuments Men the latest directorial effort from George Clooney, watch first trailer.

The Monuments Men is set during World War 2 based on a true story of a American Platoon that was created, a platoon made up of  museum directors, curators, and art historians. The group are sent into Germany to ‘rescue’  valuable works of art from the destruction from the Nazis.

As ever Gorgeous George has assembled a fantastic cast, many his acting buddies and a few more familiar faces too. Things do look entertaining  with the tone making me think Dirty Dozen meets Tarantino’s Basterds, lightweight even slightly disappointing too. However this is only the first trailer so we’ll let it off as we can see enough to show The Monuments Men look a entertaining yarn to look forward to in the new year.

The Monuments Men stars Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bob Balaban, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville. The film is set for a  9th January 2014 UK Release (USA 18th December).
