Arrow Films Buys Back Rights To Canuxploitation The Last Video Store

Arrow Films have acquired rights in the UK and US to Canuxploitation delight The Last Video Store from sales agent Blue Finch Films. The film had its World Premiere at Fantastic Fest and went on to screen at the Calgary Underground Film Festival, NorthwestFEARFest, Blood in the Snow and Pigeon Shrine FrightFest.

The Last Video Store is a love letter to era these stores still existed. When a cursed VHS tape is found by the owners who unawaken a long dormant curse.

Cameron Waaler, Arrow Acquisition Manager commented: โ€œThe Last Video Store is a magnificent throwback to the 80โ€™s horror films that we at Arrow all love and admire so it was a no brainer to acquire it. We are delighted to be able to work with both Cody and Tim to present this wonderful film to the UK and the US.โ€

Directors Cody Kennedy and Tim Rutherford also commented: “Arrow Video is a staple of contemporary video stores and collector’s shelves. Our love letter to those places couldn’t have a better home.”

In this love letter to the era of the video store, we follow Nyla who accidentally uncovers a โ€˜cursedโ€™ VHS tape. A film holds the power to connect the real world to a dimension where movie fantasy exists as reality. Nyla and the video store owner unwittingly awaken a long-dormant curse that unleashes a series of classic cinematic villains plucked from the bowels of the B-movies themselves. The films stars Yaayaa Adams (Next Stop), Kevin Martin (Straight to Video: The B-Movie Odyssey) and Matthew Kennedy (Fatherโ€™s Day).

The Last Video Storeย is now available onย ARROWย and Limited Edition Blu-Ray.
