Austrian-born Hollywood royalty Arnold Schwarzenegger discussed a potential return to his iconic action franchises, Predator and Conan, as quoted on TheArnoldFans website.

The 78-year-old star, most known for his iconic roles in legendary explosive works such as James Cameron’s Terminator series (1984-2019), attended the annual Ohio-held Arnold Sports Festival to celebrate men’s bodybuilding, where the fanpage obtained a hint at the Predator and Conan franchises receiving updates.

โ€œThey did an additional Predator, and the director (Dan Trachtenberg) has been doing a great job of that. Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator,” the action legend confirmed over the weekend. “Weโ€™ve talked about it. As a matter of fact, Fox Studios has kind of rediscovered โ€˜Arnoldโ€™.

He added: “Theyโ€™ve come to me and said, โ€˜We want you to do Predator, we just got a script for you to do โ€˜Commando 2โ€™.โ€

The firstย film was released in 1987 by director John McTiernan (Die Hardย and The Hunt for Red October) for 20th Century Fox and starred Elpidia Carrillo, Carl Weathers, Richard Chaves, Sonny Landham, Bill Duke, Jesse Ventura and Shane Black, focusing on a band of paramilitary rescuers, led by Schwarzenegger’s Dutch. They were tasked with saving hostages held in Central America. However, waiting for them in the rainforest is an unbelievably skilled alien predator who kills them off one by one.

Predator grossed $98 million from an initial $15 million budget and, despite initial mixed reviews, went on to be held as a classic of the sci-fi and action genres. It additionally spawned six sequels, released in 1990, 2010,2018, 2022 and two in 2025, and also spawned a spin-off crossover series with the Alien franchise (2004 and 2007).

Schwarzenegger also discussed a return to the Conan films, which began in 1982 withย Conan the Barbarianย by John Milius.

โ€œThey just hired a fantastic writer/director who did Tom Cruiseโ€™s last four movies. They just hired him to write and direct King Conan,” Schwarzenegger shared. “Now, what they do is that they write the part. They donโ€™t write them like iโ€™m forty years old, you write it to be age-appropriate. Iโ€™ll still go in there and kick some ass but it will be different.”

“With King Conan, its a great old story that Conan was forty years as King and now he gets forced out of the kingdom and thereโ€™s conflict, of course, but somehow he comes back and thereโ€™s all kinds of madness, violence, magic and creatures and stuff like that,” he added. “And now, of course, thereโ€™s all kinds of special effects. The studio has plenty of money to make those movies really big so iโ€™m looking forward to all of those projects.โ€

The original 1982 was followed by a sequel calledย Conan the Destroyerย in 1984.
