Apple TV+’s Mexican Medical Drama Midnight Family Gets A Trailer

A family pose around an ambulance

Apple TV+ have just released the official Trailer for their upcoming Spanish language Medical drama series, Midnight Family.

The ten (1 hour) episode series is based on the Tamayo family and documentary based on a real Mexican family. That family operate a private ambulance service in Mexico City, Midnight Family is their story. They tackle medical emergencies small and large, Marigaby is a student by day, but every she and her family fight for their own at night.

The cast for this one consist of Hispanic actors and crew including JoaquĆn CosĆo (Narcos: Mexico), Renata Vaca (Dale Gas). Diego Calva (Babylon), Sergio Bautista, Ɠscar Jaenada (HernĆ”n) and JosĆ© MarĆa de Tavira (The Candidate). Itzan Escamilla (Ɖlite), Mariana Gómez (The Queen of Flow), Dolores Heredia (Capadocia) and Yalitza Aparicio (Roma).

I haven’t seen the original award winning documentary. This has a lot of intensity and shows the struggles of a young woman attempting to better herself and balance the ambulance side of things. We do get a look at the division of wealth in a sprawling city which brings its own more and emotional challenges.

Inspired by the award-winning documentary of the same name, ā€œFamila de medianocheā€ (ā€œMidnight Familyā€) follows Marigaby Tamayo (Vaca), an ambitious and gifted medical student by day, who spends her nights saving lives throughout a sprawling, contrasted and fascinating Mexico City aboard her family’s privately owned ambulance. Along with her father Ramón (CosĆo) and her siblings Marcus (Calva) and Julito (Bautista), Marigaby serves a population of millions by tackling extreme medical emergencies to make a living.

Midnight Family will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with two episodes on Wednesday, 25th September.
