Apple TV+ Gives First Look At Black Bird
Apple today unveiled a first look and the premiere date for Black Bird, a gritty, suspenseful six-episode psychological thriller starring Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser.
The limited series is developed and executive produced by Dennis Lehane that will premiere globally with the first two episodes in July on Apple TV+.
The series is adapted from the true crime memoir โIn With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption” by James Keene and Hillel Levin. A true crime story of a convicted drug dealer who is given a chance to reduce his sentence. He’s asked to befriend a psychotic killer and try get him toย confess.


Here’s the official Synopsis:
Inspired by actual events, when high school football hero,ย decoratedย policemanโs son, and convicted drugย dealer Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton) is sentenced toย 10 years in a minimum securityย prison, he isย givenย the choice of a lifetime โ enter a maximum-security prison for theย criminallyย insane and befriendย suspectedย serialย killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), or stayย where he is and serve his full sentenceย with no possibility of parole. Keene quickly realizes his only way out is to elicit a confession and find outย where the bodies of several young girls are buried before Hallโs appeal goes through. But is thisย suspected killer telling the truth? Or is it just another tale from a serial liar? This dramatic andย captivating story subverts the crime genre by enlisting the help of the very people put behind bars toย solve its mysteries.
In addition to Egerton and Hauser, this series also stars Sepideh Moafi, Greg Kinnear and Ray Liotta.
Black Bird will premiere globally with the first two episodes onย Friday, 8th Julyย on Apple TV+, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.
