Apple To Release Schmigadoon! Starring Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key
Lorne Michaels’ Apple Original musical comedy series “Schmigadoon!,” starring Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key, to premiere globally July 16 on Apple TV+
Love those old classic musicals from the golden age era of Hollywood? Apple TV+ have a fun treat for you musical comedy series Schmigadoon! starring Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key.
The six-episode series will be coming to the channel in July. The parody series pays a fun homage to classic musicals, especially to Brigadoon especially. co-created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, with Paul serving also as the showrunner, writing all the original songs for the series. Barry Sonnenfeld directs and executive produces with Lorne Michaels.
The series will follow a couple (Strong and Key) whose relationship was falling apart. The pair decided to go on a backpacking holiday to reignite that relationship when they discover a town stuck in a time warp…A 1940’s Musical!

Here’s the official Synopsis
Schmigadoon!, a parody of iconic Golden Age musicals, stars Strong and Key as a couple on a backpacking trip designed to reinvigorate their relationship who discover a magical town living in a 1940s musical. They then learn that they can’t leave until they find “true love.”
The first season also stars Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Fred Armisen, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski and Ann Harada. Martin Short guest stars.
Schmigadoon! will premiere with Two episodes from 16th July with a new episode every Friday after that.
