Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights To World Premiere at Venice Film Festival

Andrea Arnold certainly shown to fame with 2009ย FISH TANK, the movie highlighted not just the talent she has for directing but also the ability to spot and give raw new young talent a chance to shine as lead actors like she did forย Katie Jarvis. Now today Artificial Eye have emailed us about Arnold’s follow up movie with a new ย adaptation of a Emily Bronte classic WUTHERING HEIGHTS and once again the director has opted for fresh young talent in James Howson in his first major acting role. The news of another adaptation of a Bronte novel may sound a tired idea to some people however this movie will be solely young actors which we’ve never really seen before and its actors which many may recognise from various tv shows such as Skins (Kaya Scodelario who will play Cathy).

Arnold will certainly be faithful to the original story but also give the book a fresh contemporary version which should attract a younger audience. Wuthering Heights will be released byย Artificial Eye ย in UK & Ireland later this year but over the last 24 hours Venice Film Festival have announced the programme for this years line up and the movie will make its world premier.

Artificial Eyeย have sent us the first image of James as Heatcliff along with a press release which you can read below:
