Andor First Trailer Teases The Birth Of The Rebellion

Great month for Star Wars fans, with Ewan McGregor reprising his role in Obi-wan Kenobi series. Today Disney+ are making the Summer even hotter when the next Star Wars spin-off series, Andor will be released. The tease gets better with the official first Teaser Trailer  that teases the birth of the Rebellion!

Before Obi-Wan series became reality, the Andor series was set to be released first, as we know Covid-19 happened. Now that we are slowly getting back to some normality, the prequel series to Rogue One is close to release.

Already we know there is a season 2 on the cards and apparently that season leads into what happens in Rogue One. This trailer certainly plays to the similar tone to that film, and hopefully we have another unexpected fantastic show on the cards.

Anyone who knows the Star Wars universe that Rogue One is also a prequel to the original 1977 film. With the birth of the Rebellion, the trailer showcases the Empire taking control planets spreading fear and tyranny. Off course the man core of the story is Cassian Andor  with Diego Luna returning to the titular role.  The 12 part series promises to show Cassian’s transform from the cynic to rebel hero.

The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Fiona Shaw and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

Andor Season one will launch on Disney+ from 31st August with the first 2 episodes.
