You can scream as loud as you want but will anyone hear you? 20th Century Fox delivered an unexpected Christmas present with the first Alien: Covenant trailer. Now today a new day, new month we finally get a second trailer and fear takes many forms…The Xenomorph!!!
The first trailer only subtly teased the blood, the violence that lays ahead, but now we have a new promo which unleashes the gore, the fear and the franchise’s iconic monster.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: Covenant a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
It’s a dark, dangerous world out there and with ‘Neomorph’s as David the only surviving ‘member’ of The Prometheus calls them. They aren’t exactly the form we know them from the original franchise, however, the dangers, the horrors by coming face to face with one, you’ll be dead.Terror lurks in many forms, so what about ‘The Engineers’? Prometheus left so many unanswered questions, leaving everyone frustrated. Last time we met David was on a ‘borrowed’ spaceship heading towards the ‘engineers’ homeworld with Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth, so how will they tie this into Alien: Covenant? Is Elizabeth dead?
Who sends the distress call that diverts the Covenant spaceship to go investigate? Was it Elizabeth? Did she find ‘Paradise’? It’s expected she will appear in the movie in some shape or form, it seems the world she was heading to we learn that the world is ‘devoid of life’.We can clearly say, Katherine Waterston is the movie’s lead character and she’s looking a strong one too! This looks like Rodley Scott will take us back to the franchise roots!
I have to apologise last week was the Glasgow Film Festival and the movie’s first clip arrived called ‘The Last Supper’. This clip introduces the crew and we learn this is not a crew of fighters as this is couples ready to colonise a new world, not to face the terror that waits for them!
Alien: Covenant docks in UK& Irish cinemas from 19th May and will co-star Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby
