Remain will mark the first collaboration between Vikander and Shyamalan. Vikander is best known for her roles in Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, the latter of which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was most recently seen in 2024’s political satire Rumours and will appear in the sci-fi thriller The Assessment alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Himesh Patel later this year.

Gyllenhaal‘s last project was Doug Liman’s 2024 remake of Road House. He has several upcoming projects, including Guy Ritchie’s In The Grey and The Bride! which is directed by his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal. As for Shyamalan, he is coming off the recent success of the Josh Hartnett-fronted thriller Trap, which was released last year and 2023’s apocalyptic horror movie Knock at the Cabin.
