The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug maybe only 11 days away but we’ve never had a proper look at the film’s titular character until now  and it’s not the way you might be expecting!
As in the previous Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, the national airline of  New Zealand provide the extra promotion to The Hobbit revealing Smaug in his full glory over one of its airplanes livery. After months of trailers, teasers, posters and numerous Peter Jackson has only teased us with brief glimpses of the eponymous  fire breather but you sort of expected this the cat (or dragon this case) out the bag let out via merchandise or non cinema promotion it’s happened in the past with blockbusters trying to hide secrets.
Voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch the look we get of Smaug is grandiose possibly intelligent lizard who might use more than fire to outwit anyone who confronts him. In The Hobbit:The  Desolation of Smaug, Bilbo & Dwarves takes one step closer to Lonely Mountain and the Kingdom of Erebor which Smaug has now taken as his lair but will the Dwarves take back what they believe is theirs?.
If your a plane spotter or  dragon spotter you will find Smaug spread over the livery of Boeing 777, a plane  which is used on Air New Zealand’s busiest routes but most of all it’s international routes too. So get have nightmares if you live near an airport, it’s not a dragon just Air New Zealand  plane about to land!
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be in UK cinemas from 13th December starring Martin Freeman, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lily,Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellan, Richard Armitage plus thousands more…
