AI Gets Deadly In The First Trailer For Blumhouse Horror Afraid

A terrified family clam together

AI like it or not, it will be coming more and more part of our daily lives. However in the first UK Trailer for Afraid, things get deadly in the upcoming Blumhouse horror!

Once called They Listen, the film stars John Cho and Katharine Waterston with Chris Weitz (About A Boy) directing. The horrorsย  of high tech becomes more trouble than helpful, too close to be exact.

In Afraid, Curtis (Cho) and hisย  family are selected for new experimental revolutionary technology. For use in their home called AiA, a new home based gadget that promises to take things to another level.ย  She does seem to learn the family’s personal behaviours, anticipating their next move.ย  She’ll make sure nothing will get her in a way, including Curtis’ family.

The past year Ai has taken a step closer to those nightmares we’ve all dreamed about. They are getting smarter, taking over and we’re becoming responsible for our own downfall. Ai might be smart, humanity has to be smarter and we do like those horrors stay the big screen!

In AFRAID, Curtis (John Cho) and his family are selected to test a revolutionary new home device: a digital family assistant called AIA. Taking smart home to the next level, once the unit and all its sensors and cameras are installed in their home, AIA seems able to do it all. She learns the family’s behaviours and begins to anticipate their needs. And she can make sure nothing โ€“ and no one โ€“ gets in her familyโ€™s way.

The film also stars ย Havana Rose Liu, Lukita Maxwell, with David Dastmalchian and Keith Carradine. Afraid will be released in UK and Ireland on 30th August.
