“Into The Afray” With A New Featurette & TV Spot For THE GREY

I tried desperately this week to stay away from the site simply because of the very little new stuff which would have been posted online from the build up, through Christmas to the new year, now its new year’s day I need a bit of a little fix. Now the turkey, trimmings, steak pie (today) are all history I’ve stumbled across a new featurette and TV Spot for Joe Carnahan’s THE GREY which is out this month. Starring Liam Neeson teaming up with his old A-Team director playing a Alaskan based oil rig ‘roughneck’ who with his fellow compadre’s heading home to their families when the plane they were travelling in crashes in the Alaskan snow caped wilderness who don’t just have to fend off the extreme conditions but also survive a pack of angry wolves.

In the featurette called “Into The Afray” we have a behind the scenes look at the film’s hard as nails hero Liam Neeson and how he didn’t believe he could cope the physical side of the flick but when you see the Irish actor with broken bottles taped to his fists plus look at Taken, even Unknown you can see he does look the better man against Bradley Cooper who was originally casted. I’ve really like the trailers, they’ve been created stylishly, this new tv spot has the odd tidbit of new footage with Mr Voiceover man narrating the spot.

The Grey might not be Oscar material but what it does look like it has is a entertaining fun action packed 90 minutes to chill out to or in Liam Neeson’s words “The wee boy (or girl) inside you wanting to do”. The Grey also stars Frank Grillo, Dermot Mulroney, Dallas Roberts, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale, and Nonso Anozie, with the film opening in UK, Ireland & USA January 27th 2012.
