A24 Release New Featurette for Alex Garland’s Warfare
Amongst a slew of upcoming releases, A24 have partnered with Alex Garland and co-director Ray Mendoza for Warfare, promoting the project with an all-new featurette.
Slated for release in April, Warfare follows a group of Navy SEALS tasked with overseeing the movement of US forces through insurgent territory. Set amid the Iraq conflict,ย it boasts a star-studded cast that includes Charles Melton, Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, Noah Centineo, Michael Gandolfini, Finn Bennett and Will Poulter.
Garland, an Academy Award nominee, is no stranger to A24. He first collaborated with the company on 2022โs folk horror film Men before following up with 2024โs dystopian action Civil War, the indie powerhouseโs most expensive and second-highest-grossing film. In Warfare, Garland will share directorial duties with Ray Mendoza, an Iraq war veteran whose experiences serve as the basis for the filmโs plot. Mendoza and Garland have also worked together before, with Mendozaโs military expertise utilised during the production of Civil War.
To prepare for the film, the cast and crew underwent harsh Navy SEAL training, including an extreme boot camp to truly get into character. This added realism will hopefully further the filmโs true-to-life selling point, dubbed as a โvisceral, boots-on-the-ground story.โ
Warfare is scheduled for an April 11th release in the US, and April 18th in the UK.
