80’s Slasher Classic And FrightFest Seaborn Chiller Coming To Arrow Video!

As we prepare for the Christmas countdown, Arrow Video are getting ready for the New Year. This coming January will bring a much needed shiver of delight to film fans experiencing a post-festivities comedown. The first month of 2020 will have On the slate an acclaimed seaborn thriller fresh from FrightFest, and a long-lost slasher classic from a Spanish master of terror.

First off in January is Harpoon, Welcomes you onboard for Edgar Allan Poe by way of Seinfeld, on the high seas, and an exercise in brilliant pacing, direction and acting. As the story takes darkly comedic and always unexpected turns, the three leads (Munro Chambers from Turbo Kid, Christopher Gray from TV’s The Mist, and Emily Tyra from Code Black) crescendo into a culmination of their respective crises of conscience – except the crisis here is that they have no conscience.

Also this month a long-neglected late 80s slasher classic, Edge of the Axe, from cult Spanish filmmaker José Ramón Larraz (Vampyres, Symptoms), unleashed on Blu-ray for the first time ever! Nominally set in Northern California but shot primarily in Madrid, giving the film an off-kilter, American/European atmosphere akin to the likes of Pieces, Edge of the Axe is a late entry hack-and-slash masterpiece from one of the titans of Spanish terror. The release features a brand new 2k restoration, and there is also a limited edition slipcase Blu-ray.

Jonah, Richard and Sasha have been friends a long time… maybe too long. Following a ferocious bust-up, Richard tries to make amends in the form of a sailing trip on his family yacht. The rural community of Paddock County is being rocked by the crazed exploits of an axe-wielding psychopath, who stalks the night in a black trenchcoat and mask.
