When I was a kid in the 1980’s I may have believed the decade was a nightmare but now when you look at at it some of the best television and cinema came from that decade so its no surprise that we look back at that decade for inspiration for whats coming to a cinema near you. 21 Jump Street is based on the popular American tv show which starred none other than a young Johnny Depp and now 22 years (or 24 years USA)on the show is returning for its big screen adaptation with Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill as our unlikely heros. So whats it all about?Hill and Tatum play young mismatched cops who are set to go undercover at a local high school, a school whose principal just happens to be Ice Cube. This does look rather amusing and could be one of the funnier flicks of 2012 however the trailer may have given away majority of the jokes as it clocks in at a worrying 3 plus minutes running time so it looks at least the film’s directors Phil Lord & Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs)are on the right track. Anyone hoping to see a bit Johnny Depp do his magic in a show he starred in will be delighted to know the actor will have an uncredited cameo but as who, when we don’t know just yet but what we do know is the film also stars Dave Franco,Ellie Kemper, Brie Larsen, and Rob Riggle.

So if your keen to see Channing Tatum be funny rather than depressing and Jonah Hill looking great shape wise  March 16th 2012 is date to mark on your calenders when the film will arrive here in UK&Ireland.

In the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) are more than ready to leave their adolescent problems behind. Joining the police force and the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go undercover in a local high school. As they trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, Schmidt and Jenko risk their lives to investigate a violent and dangerous drug ring. But they find that high school is nothing like they left it just a few years earlier and neither expects that they will have to confront the terror and anxiety of being a teenager again and all the issues they thought they had left behind.
