The latest episode (018) of The Chronicle our official film podcast here at The Peoples Movies. This week’s reviews include critically acclaimed drama Past Lives and horror The Nun II.
Celine Song’s Arthouse drama Past Lives finally arrives on UK Shores. Since it’s world premiere away back at Sundance Film Festival, the film has been getting fantastic reviews. Starring Greta Lee and Teo Yeo who we meet as youngsters Nora and Hae-Sung in Seoul, South Korea. Just when things start to look great for both, Nora’s f emigrates to Toronto, Canada with her family. The pair to reunite 12 years later this time over skype with Nora now in New York City. After another 12 year split they reunite in person with Hae-sung visiting New York City. This time Nora won’t be alone she will have her husband Arthur (John Magaro).

For the second and final review for episode 018, we head back to The Conjuring universe and the horror The Nun II. Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) takes on the demoinc malevolence that’s Valak who is terrorising priests and nuns in France. What does it want? All paths lead to a French all girls boarding school and a very familiar face to Irene.
