Love is complicated at times and love is in the air in French indie romance Anaïs in Love. After it’s solid festival run, Peccadillo Pictures are set to bring the film to the UK. Now we get a look at the Official Trailer.
Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet directs this one that stars Anaïs Demoustier. She plays Anaïs a young woman broke, free spirited who falls in love with a famous novelist. Who just happens to be the wife of the man she’s having an affair with!
This was shown at Glasgow Film Festival, unfortunately I was unable to attend. Now it’s soon to be released, and reminding love is complexed, fun looking nevertheless.
In this sparkling and elegant romantic comedy, the free-spirited and giddily impulsive Anaïs (Anaïs Demoustier, The New Girlfriend) careers from one lover to the next while trying to find some direction in her life. Following a brief dalliance with an older man (Denis Podalydès, Sorry Angel), she soon finds herself captivated instead by his beautiful long-time partner Emilie (Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Summer of 85, Only the Animals), a successful and beguilingly charismatic writer, and an affair begins which may just offer the contentment Anaïs has been searching for.
ANAÏS IN LOVE features stunning Paris and Normandy locations, and a lead performance of immense charm by Anaïs Demoustier, the debut film by writer-director CharIine Bourgeois-Tacquet is playful, passionate, and thoroughly enchanting.
The cast includes Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Denis Podalydès, Jean-Charles Clichet, Xavier Guelf, and Christophe Montenez.
Anaïs in Love will be shown in UK and Irish cinemas from 19th August.
