First Look At Irvine Welsh’s TV Series Crime Trailer

Once again Edinburgh will be one big crime scene again in November when Irvine Welsh‘s first foray into television with the release of Crime. Today BritBox have sent us over the series official Trailer that teases monsters are around every corner,

They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, not in my mind…” Prepare to enter the dangerous world and troubled mind of Detective Inspector Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott, Mission: Impossible 2, Batwoman, The Woman in White), a man engaged in a disturbing battle with his own demons, through the demanding and very public medium of serious crime investigations.

It would be a travesty if that first series for the Trainspotting author wasn’t in his home city. We are teased they’ll be plenty of drama but how far will this gritty crime drama will go? Fan’s of Welsh’s books know he’s not scared to go into those dark areas of humanity!

Crime is the story of Ray Lennox in a city on the edge of the abyss. Lennox is a man whose clear sight is not always a blessing. A girl goes missing. A town is in fear. A police department fights with itself. A hero is lost; tortured by his own demons and all the while, watching, waiting, a brutal killer is poised to strike.

The series will also star Joanna Vanderham (Warrior, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) as DS Amanda Drummond, Angela Griffin (Harlots, Dun Breedin’, White Lines) as Trudi Lowe, Ken Stott (The Dig, Fortitude, Devils) as Chief Superintendent Bob Toal and Jamie Sives (Guilt, Too Close) as Detective Inspector Dougie Gillman.
