They always say you need faith in your product and Netflix certainly do. Five weeks before their upcoming Fantasy series The Witcher is released, they announce Season Two is confirmed.
They confirmed that sharing that Geralt (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) will all return. Announcing this news before the debut season launches means Netflix have high hopes for the series. If this show based on Andrzej Sapkowski‘s novels immerse us in the world, we can’t wait!
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich commented: “I am so excited that before viewers dive into season one, we are already able to confirm that we’ll be returning to The Continent again to continue telling the stories of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri, and to showcase more of the amazing work that our cast and crew have delivered.”
Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
Henry Cavill leads the cast of The Witcher saga alongside other main cast members, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan. Other cast include Jodhi May, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Adam Levy, MyAnna Buring, Mimi Ndiweni, Therica Wilson-Read, and Emma Appleton. Eamon Farren , Joey Batey , Lars Mikkelsen , Royce Pierreson and, Maciej Musiał.
The second season will begin production in London early in 2020, for a planned debut in 2021.
All eight episodes of the season one will be released at once.
The Witcher will launch globally on Netflix on 20th December 2019.
