Zac Efron Is Ted Bundy In Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile First Trailer

After High School Musical then Dirty Grandpa, Zac Efron‘s choice of films been a little bit predictable. The Greatest Showman he could stiil sing and dance, now he is serial killer Ted Bundy. Ahead of it’s World Premiere at Sundance, Sky Cinema has released the UK Trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

Some actors like to keep themselves in a comfort zone, constantly playing similar roles and films. Efron has found himself in that zone several times, so playing the killer who once said he was more popular than Disney might do wonders. The role as ‘America’s most notorious serial killer‘ Efron may not be your first choice. It’s certainly his most audacious role to date.

The film takes the point of view from Bundy’s one time girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (played by Lily Collins). The Trailer opens with them together, shows off an escape via a building window. But we do see him as a devoted father, loving husband. Deep down we know behind that vile smile a murderer awaits his next victim.

Ted (Efron): handsome, smart, charismatic, affectionate. Liz (Collins): a single mother, cautious, but smitten. A picture of domestic bliss, the two seem to have it all figured out. That is until Ted is arrested and charged with a series of increasingly grisly murders. As concern turns to paranoia, Liz is forced to consider how well she knows the man she shares a life with and, as the evidence piles up, decide if Ted is truly a victim, or actually guilty as charged.

The film co-stars Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, Angela Sarafyan, Jim Parsons and Haley Joel Osment. Directed by Joe Berlinger.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile in the UK and Ireland in the cinemas as well as Sky Cinema. No release date has been confirmed yet.
