That’ll Be The Day and that day is the Blu-Ray/DVD release of the 1978 Oscar nominated The Buddy Holly Story, set for release on Monday 22nd February. The film is considered one of the best biopics ever produced for cinema and features 12 of Hollyโ€™s greatest hit songs. It won the 1978 Academy Award for Best Score Adaptation with Gary Busey giving an electrifying , Oscar nominated performance as Holly. The film is a dynamic tribute to one of the most influential rock โ€˜nโ€™ rollers of all time.

The film follows Holly’s life, from growing up in Texas, to his early hit records, his quick national fame, his performances on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” his marriage and then his tragic untimely death.

Young Buddyโ€™s studious appearance gave no hint of his style of โ€˜new musicโ€™ which was about to take the world by storm. His unique brand of rock โ€˜nโ€™ roll was pivotal in the genreโ€™s birth and catapulted him and The Crickets to national stardom in just three short years with hits such as โ€œThatโ€™ll Be The Dayโ€ and โ€œPeggy Sueโ€.

The film stars Gary Busey, Don Stroud, Charles Martin Smith, Conrad Janis and Paul Mooney.
