Sly Stallone Confirms He Won’t Be In Creed 3

The Rocky franchise maybe continuing with Creed 3, it won’t have have the man himself Rocky Balboa in it. Michael B.Jordan will be returning to not just star in titular role, he’s stepping up to direct too.

The news broke through the night  by Hollywood Reporter, reporting Adonis “Donnie” Creed will be without his mentor. Stallone himself broke the news on a comment on his Instagram account in a video Q& A with fans, he’s passing the torch to Jordan.

No reason was actually given  why Sly won’t be involved or even how Rocky could be written out the series. Creed was released back in 2016 which saw Stallone reprise his iconic Rocky Balboa role. A role that would see the veteran actor earn himself an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor. Creed 2 was released in 2018 which was a critical success, now it’s time for student to go on his own accord.

It was back in December we learned Creed 3 was going to be made set for November 2022 release with Jordan directing too. will the film open with the funeral of Rocky Balboa or could we still potentially be a ‘cameo’?

If your still looking for a Rocky fix, Stallone has been working on a recut of Rocky IV. Sly announced the news also via his Instagram video, announcing that the film is now complete. He’s never been happy with the version of 1985 film that was released, now it’s fixed. The film saw Rocky came up against Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), the man who would defeat Apollo Creed (Adonis father) leading to his death. Ironically Creed 2 saw Rocky and Creed come face to face with Drago and his own son.

The Rocky Franchise could continue in the shape of a prequel film which could blossom into a potential series. But who would play a ‘young Rocky’? For now catch Sylvester Stallone as King Shark in James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad.
