More Images Released For Denis Villeneuve’s Dune!

After yesterday’s first look image for Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune, today we get even more. The first showcased our protagonist Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) on Caladan his home planet. Now we have a host of  new images, which give us  our first look at most of the other main characters.

Frank Herbert’s 1965 Novel of the same name is a much loved by sci-fi fans worldwide. After David Lynch’s 1984 attempt, fans were desperate to see the perfect big screen version of Dune. Hope came in the shape of Blade Runner 2049 director Villeneuve and now we’re all excited!

The images came with an interview with the director, who explained why they’ll be two films “I would not agree to make this adaptation of the book with one single movie, The world is too complex. It’s a world that takes its power in details.”

Villeneuve further added “It’s a book that tackles politics, religion, ecology, spirituality—and with a lot of characters. I think that’s why it’s so difficult. Honestly, it’s by far the most difficult thing I’ve done in my life.”

Dune is set in the distant future, and follows Paul Atreides, whose family assumes control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, jurisdiction over Arrakis is contested among competing noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship with nature, as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s reign.

The film will also star Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Zendaya.  Alongside them is Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Stephen McKinley Henderson.

Dune still set for December 18th , here’s hoping that release date will stay!
