In Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Cloud UK Trailer Everyone Is A Target

Everyone is a target as Blue Finch Film Releasing unearth the UK Trailer for crime thriller Cloud.

The film stars Masaki Suda (The Boy and The Heron) and directed by Japanese filmmaker Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Pulse, Cure, Tokyo Sonata). The film also stars Kotone Furukawa, Daikan Okudaira, Okayama Amane, Yoshiyoshi Arakawa, Masataka Kubota.

Cloud is a suspenseful crime thriller that promises some horror elements about factory worker Ryosuke (Suda). He makes a  secondary living selling certain items on the side reselling stuff under a false name. Thanks to mysterious events and threats start to threaten Ryosuke’s life…

Ryosuke Yoshi (Masaki Suda, The Boy and the Heron) works at a small factory and makes money on the side as a reseller operating under the pseudonym “Ratel.” He deals in medical devices, handbags, figurines… Anything he can flip to make a profit. Buy low, sell high – that’s all there is to it.

After renting a lakeside house outside the city, and starting a new life with his girlfriend, Akiko (Kotone Furukawa, Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy) and new assistant Sano (Daiken Okudaira), Yoshi’s reselling schemes appear to be going from strength to strength until unsettling incidents begin occurring consecutively around him. Suspicious vehicles roaming his vicinity, a broken window, stalking shadows, and online malice… A negative spiral of animosity gathers momentum, eventually taking physical form as a sinister mob of ex-victims organise. Their target is Yoshii, whose oblivious existence is rapidly torn apart…

Acclaimed filmmaker Kurosawa (Winner: Cannes Un Certain Regard Award, Journey to the Shore and Tokyo Sonata; Venice Silver Lion Best Director Award, Wife of a Spy) depicted digital terrors as far back as his early cult hit Pulse in which the web became a conduit for otherworldly spirits. Now he presents the horror of internet-incubated insanity reaching a critical point and running wild in reality, as Cloud penetrates the chaos of society today.
