The Laws Of Gravity No Longer Apply, in Netflix bound Anime Bubble. Tonight the streaming channel tease us with Netflix Original film from Attack on Titan director Tetsurô Araki.
Fans of Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering With You might want to check this one out. We find ourselves in Toyko, which has been cut off from the outside world all thanks to the laws of gravity thrown out. A group of young people who use the city as a battlefield through Parkour, we follow a young ace called Hibiki who stumbles into young girl Uta. She has a set of powers that could change everything.
WIT Studios are the production studio behind this, along with Attack On Titan the studio has worked on Death Note, Vinland Saga, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Kabaneri to name a few. Japanese animation certainly has plenty of imagination this looks a fine example…
The story is set in Tokyo, after bubbles that broke the laws of gravity rained down upon the world. Cut off from the outside world, Tokyo has become a playground for a group of young people who have lost their families, acting as a battlefield for parkour team battles as they leap from building to building. Hibiki, a young ace known for his dangerous play style, makes a reckless move one day and plummets into the gravity-bending sea. His life is saved by Uta, a girl with mysterious powers who appears suddenly. The pair then hear a unique sound audible only to them. Why did Uta appear before Hibiki? Their encounter leads to a revelation that will change the world.
Jun Shison, Mamoru Miyano, Yuki Kaji, and Tasuku Hatanaka all feature in the voice cast.
Bubble will be released on Netflix from 28th April 2022, if you live in Japan the film will be released theatrically 13th May 2022.
