The Day After Judgement Day is nearly upon us. Before that day arrives Paramount Pictures has finally released Terminator: Dark Fate Second Trailer.
Deadpool‘s Tim Miller now directs under the wing of the man who created the franchise, James Cameron. Who is hoping past mistakes post Terminator: Judgement Day are ‘Terminated’. In this new trailer icons reunite as Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and Original T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) meet for the first time. As you’ll see from the trailer it’s not a friendly reunion. The question we ask, if this is meant to be post Judgement Day Sarah and T-800 were on more ‘friendlier’ terms into the fire. Why does she suddenly hate him so much again?
The first trailer was released back in May, things went ‘dark’. We’ve had San Diego Comic Con and this trailer seems to be that footage but still no synopsis. The big clue is the girl MacKenzie Davis is protecting, Natalia Reyes. Who is she? Davis character seems to be a Kyle Reese type character, does she have a connection John Connor? Recently new broke the original John Connor, Edward Furlong could be starring in Dark Fate, is this women his wife/Girlfriend? Or is she simply carrying a potential other child soon to be saviour to humanity or she is the potential leader?
All is up in the air, and for a franchise that’s been sliding downhill critically for a while, a wise move. What we can see from this trailer, things looks bit more balanced and solid. Action looks big, nice little twist that Davis isn’t just another Terminator but an advanced human. Could Reyes character be the brains behind the advancement?
If you’re looking for nods to the original franchise, you’ll get a few especially ‘I’ll Be back’. Just don’t expect who’ll be saying it! Hasta La Vista Baby!
The film also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.
Terminator: Dark Fate is due for release on 23 October in the UK and Ireland.with 1 November in the US.
