Garth Stein’s The Art Of Racing in The Rain book was a bestseller. So it’s no surprised to see it getting adapted to the big screen. Next month 20th Century Fox Pictures will bring that film version to the big screen as man and dog are best friends. Kevin Costner is the voice of the dog, Enzo and in the film’s UK Trailer he will show the world how to be human once again.
The big question about any book to screen adaptations, can they be as good as the book? This maybe a romantic drama, the book was a hear felt, even a little melodramatic. A love story, cars, dogs could it be a recipe for success?
In the heartfelt tale THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN, Milo Ventimiglia stars as Denny, a racecar driver who is devoted to his witty, wise almost human dog, Enzo. More than a pet, Enzo (voiced by Kevin Costner) is Denny’s best friend. Denny meets Eve, a teacher played by Amanda Seyfried; they fall in love, marry and have a baby. With support from Eve and Enzo, Denny learns how to navigate family life, even in times of crisis, using the lessons he’s learned on the race track. Moving, exciting and at times very funny, the film is told from Enzo’s perspective, with the dog’s unique insights into the complexities of family life and the human condition.
Directed by Simon Curtis, the movie is based on the bestseller by Garth Stein.
The film stars Amanda Seyfried, Milo Ventimiglia, and Gary Cole. The Art Of Racing In The Rain will be in UK and Irish Cinemas from 9th August.
