“I Am Wall:E” Watch Tom Cruise In Oblivion Trailer One

With All I Need Is Kill (currently been filmed), possible other on the cards Our Name Is Adam, Tom Cruise seems to have caught the Sci-Fi bug and now we have the first trailer & poster for Oblivion and guess what its a sci-fi!

Directed by Tron:Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski Oblivion is set in a post apocalyptic Earth Cruise plays Jack Harper a drone repairman who explores the barren lands for the last remaining vital resources after been devastated by an alien invasion. When he rescues a mysterious woman from crashed spaceship which triggers off a chained of events that question what he knows.

The first thing that catches your eye with Oblivion is it’s visual beauty but we expect that from Kosinski as the visuals from Tron:Legacy where it’s strong point but hopefully where Tron lacked (the plot), Oblivion will do better. We do like the slightly different approach Kosinski has taken  it’s also good he hasn’t went for survival or action shoot em up story, looks to have a mystery factor to it. Ironically the early part of the trailer is like a cross between Wall:E and I am Legend, I Am Wall:E?!, Throughout the trailer we can see elements of Minority Report, Mad Max, Tweleve Monkeys too.

Oblivion stars Morgan Freeman,Andrea Riseborough,Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Melissa Leo. The film will arrive in UK&Ireland 12th April 2013 and 19th April 2013 USA.
*Update-11th December thanks to Universal Pictures for sending us the UK version of the trailer

Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.
