disorientating, confusing, feeling lost for words all things been said about Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master trailer but when you look at it they are all the things that Lancaster Dodd will manipulate you to join him! With Venice and Toronto Film festivals approaching as well as the American release one final theatrical trailer for The Master has been released online which maybe the most disconcerting trailer we’ve seen from the film so far.
Whilst the previous trailer & clips we’ve either not heard or slightly grazed on, the new trailer we finally here Philip Seymour Hoffman spout out his dogma, his vision and in post war 1950’s America his charisma is contagious. What really ups the intensity is Freddie’s (Joaquin Phoenix) punching of the window frame really shows he is a troubled soul could be another sign of post traumatic syndrome soldiers suffer from even today’s era that still goes on. There is some more new footage to be seen here however this is one final reminder this will be a film we have to see when it arrives in UK later, this film I hope might be heading to London Film Festival in October find out next week when programme is announced.
If this film isn’t in the running for the awards and Oscars especially from what I’m reading from USA it’s going to be a major outcry. The Master will be arriving November 9th (September 14th USA) in UK&Ireland so there could be one more trailer, the film stars Amy Adams, Laura Dern, David Warshofsky, Rami Malek, Jesse Plemons, Madisen Beaty, Joshua Close and Fiona Dourif.
