As promised a few days ago The official Full trailer for JOHN CARTER has now arrived!I decided against showing the preview clip which surfaced yesterday as to me would have spoiled today’s full trailer of Disney’s sci-fi extravaganza.

Taylor Kitsch plays our Earthling hero and what a start to the trailer opening up to John’s battle with the giant white apes which has a big Star Wars vibe to it but that’s not in a negative way! What the trailer does does is gives us a brief look at Willem Dafoe’s  multi limbed character Tars Tarkas  and silver eyed villian Matai Shang played by Mark Strong.

Disney have certainly went all out to make this a visually epic looking film, Mars or Barsoom  looks great, the creatures look odd  but brilliant ticking all the boxes  of a Disney blockbuster checklist. What’s the concern is the actual story, Andrew Stanton has made a big mark in Pixar but this is his first big live action blockbuster will he get the rub of the green and transport some of the Pixar magic into John Carter? We’re optimistic he can!

We’re waiting on the trailer to arrive at The Peoples Movies HQ however MSNUK have released the trailer officially and when the trailer arrives we’ll update this post. JOHN CARTER will arrive in UK&Ireland plus USA on March 9th 2012, the film stars also Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church
*UPDATE*02 December – Big Thanks To Disney Pictures UK who have now sent us our own copy of Trailer!

From Academy Award®–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
