Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day In New York Gets A UK Trailer

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Woody Allen film, that’s about to change. Today Signature Entertainment have unveiled the UK Trailer for A Rainy Day In New York, get your brolley at the ready!

The film mark’s Allen return to romantic comedy. His previous entries Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Midnight in Paris. If you wondered where those traditional April showers have gone, watch this Trailer, their in New York!

The film is 18 months in the making, when it was created in 2018. But due to personal issues involving Allen became public delayed the film’s release. The film then didn’t have a UK distributor and now a year after the US release, we can finally see the film.

The young actor of moment Timothée Chalamet stars along side Elle Fanning. The pair play young sweethearts planning a romantic weekend to New York. Their plans are dashed when the Sun becomes rain…

A Rainy Day in New York tells the story of college sweethearts, Gatsby (Timothée Chalamet) and Ashleigh (Elle Fanning), whose plans for a romantic weekend together in the city are dashed as quickly as the sunlight turns into showers.

When Ashleigh gets an assignment from the school paper to interview celebrated film director Roland Pollard (Liev Schreiber) in Manhattan, Gatsby seizes the opportunity to show small-town girl Ashleigh his favourite haunts in his home city. However, Gatsby’s well-laid plans are quickly sidetracked when Pollard whisks Ashleigh away on a head-spinning series of encounters that lead her from the director to screenwriter Ted Davidoff (Jude Law) to movie star Francisco Vega (Diego Luna).

Left to his own devices in the city, Gatsby ends up spending the day with Chan (Selena Gomez), the sharp-witted younger sister of his ex-girlfriend, attending parties and having his own life-changing conversations and encounters.

Through this series of chance meetings and comical adventures the pair discover that while you only live once, once is enough if you find the right person.

The film also stars Selena Gomez, Jude Law , Diego Luna and Liev Schreiber.

 A Rainy Day in New York will get it’s UK &Irish  Home Premiere on 5 June.
