Hope (2021)

Life is never perfect, and Stellan Skarsgård has been a ‘coward’ in the UK Trailer for Hope. Today, Picturehouse Entertainment release the promo for the acclaimed Norwegian drama about a marriage tested.

The film is directed by Maria Sødahl, in her first film in nine years. Hope was made in 2019 and made it’s world premiere at that year’s Toronto Film Festival. Some critics calling it one of the best films of the festival as well as 2019. This December we will get a chance to watch the film for ourselves when it’s released in UK cinemas.

Skarsgård and Andrea Bræin Hovig play artist couple Tomas & Anja who have been together for a very long-time. However, their love for each other has drafted apart testing their marriage, things getting even worse when one receives devastating news.

This one has a lot of emotion, will hope win them over?

Over the years, Anja (Andrea Bræin Hovig) and Tomas (Stellan Skarsgård) have slowly grown apart, their creative careers taking them in different directions and leaving their relationship distant. Though surrounded by her children and family, when Anja receives a life-changing diagnosis her life with Tomas begins to fracture, exposing years of neglected love.

Alone with her grief and her fears, Anja realises that she needs Tomas’s full help and support, and the two embark on a challenging but hopeful journey in which they discover themselves and each other anew.

Featuring an outstanding cast, HOPE is the stunning new film from acclaimed director Maria Sødahl.

Hope will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from Friday 10th December.
