Whatever you in the past no matter how remorseful you are will always comeback to haunt you, Robert Redford is in The Company You Keep but when a brash young reporter Shia LaBeouf on your trail to expose you, its time to run. After last summers Pre-Toronto first trailer a new second trailer for The Company You Keep reveals we have an intriguing man hunt on the cards.
Directed and Starring Robert Redford who plays a Civil Rights Lawyer Jim Grant forced to go on the run when his past was exposed by a determined young reporter Ben Sheppard (LaBeouf) who has exposed him as the leader of a 1970′s Militant of the Weather Underground movement. However Sheppard has also found evidence that Grant was also involved in 1970’s robbery in which one person died with Grant been the accused forcing him to flee and find the one person who can clear his name.
So is The Company You Keep finally the film that helps Shia LaBeouf finally wash away the ghosts of Transformers past? From Toronto review it seems you may have found that key. This film does seem to resemble elements of Redford’s past in tension, engrossing thriller something he starred in back in 1970’s even if your not impressed the ensemble cast has to tempt you to check this one out, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Stephen Root, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, Anna Kendrick, Terrence Howard and Brit Marling. It seems this maybe one of those films that will keep you thinking right til the end before things fall into to place, ah nthing better than a old style political thriller.
The Company You Keep is been released in USA on 5th April but here in UK&Ireland Studiocanal will distribute the film which will be released 7th June.
