Mission Impossible 7 and 8 Are DELAYED Again

I think we can say it’s turning out to be ‘mission impossible’ to release Mission Impossible 7 and 8. Tonight we’ve learned both sequels release dates have once again been delayed.

If the world isn’t safe for us mere mortals with Covid, it seems the super agents of the world aren’t either. Deadline are reporting Paramount Pictures are happy  that cinephiles  won’t be able to enjoy the full theatrical experience. They decided each film’s releases by a year to 2023 and 2024 respectively.

Paramount with the franchises production company Skydance released this joint statement:

After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic. The new release dates will be July 14, 2023, and June 28, 2024, respectively. We look forward to providing moviegoers with an unparalleled theatrical experience.”

It’s amazing to think, if things went to plan Mission Impossible 7 would have been out on home release for a while now. Originally the 7th film was set for July 2021 cinema release , now it’s set for 14th July 2023. The 8th film is now set for a 28th June 2024 release date, but life is impossible to guess. Coronovirus surprised us all, over 2 years on, no one expected the pandemic to still be making big impact on our lives.

Like fellow super spy James Bond, No Time To Die found itself delayed  release for nearly 2 years. Despite  finally being released, Box Office figures were still lower than pre-Covid figures. The West Side Story is a big example of a critically acclaimed film with mediocre box office returns. Paramount Pictures have taken this into consideration , with Omicron variant still causing havoc, they want the best box office returns.

Regardless what you think of Tom Cruise, he still has a big pull at the cinema. For now many people still fear going back to theatres, when will that day come, we don’t know hopefully just around the corner. If you still need your Tom Cruise fix, his other well delayed Top Gun: Maverick is still set for a September 2022 release.
