Film Review 2 – Justice League (2017)

Much has been said about the return of Batman and Superman since they did battle in CGI hell BVS (2016) although Wonder Woman was introduced as portrayed by the special talent Gal Gadot, the film was still messy leaving even the most die hard comic affixing fan in respite of a good DC production. Amazonian warrior origin tale Wonder Woman, blew away box office and critics alike, so now with Justice League, the assembling of a crime fighting crew in an Avengers type scenario is coming at a time of superhero cinema overload. Having now seen it three times, although there are flaws galore, notably due to the swapping of directors behind the scenes that involved publicised reshoots of a certain man of steel, this is still good entertainment, mostly funny and well made action fodder.

Flash (Ezra Miller) & Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are offset by loose storytelling so we don’t get to know them enough, same goes for ocean dweller, friend to the fishes Aquaman (Jason Momoa). He does get an amusing moment unknowingly sitting on Wonder Woman‘s lasso of truth and builds on his own upcoming spin-off currently filming in Queensland due for release late 2018.

Just about every side character or link to the broad story is underused or all too brief including Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

As much as I’ve been telling everyone to ignore the deplorable general reviews to judge for yourself, there is a mechanical spider type vehicle on hand, it’s ridiculous to even for Bruce Wayne’s wonderful world of gadgets.

Switch off critically, you’ll get the most out of it.

I like the fact DC comic universe is darker and a touch more iconic than Marvel. Small intricate scenes work in favour of something better.

Hopefully, filmmakers and Warner Bros decision makers are challenged to flesh out further for an epic, memorable unique saga.

Because Thor Ragnarok went full comedy and won hearts of those not normally into comic book mayhem didn’t help the plight of Justice League. Go see it for Diana Prince alone, stay on during end credits for extra scenes.
