31 Days Of Horror (Day 28) – Hellraiser (1987)

hellraiser

Hellraiser is one of those films that you need to watch as a horror fan. I had never seen it, I will admit, until this year and now I love it!

The film is pretty dark and kind of cheesy but I loved it none the less. It was a wonderful and fulfilling horror film that does not shy away from being outright outrageous.

Being one of the most popular cult films the film managed to gain many sequels and many fans across the world as the film grew in popularity. Though as the film became more popular and more known, the sequels (like most horror franchises) decreased in quality. Although many do still like the film.

Following the story of an unfaithful woman, whose lover comes back from a demonic underworld as a zombie. That plot alone tells you that you are in for a treat with this film.

The sad thing about this series coming to an end is that I want to tell you less and less about the film to encourage you to go and watch it. I don’t like giving to any spoilers, or well giving much an away about the film in general as I am afraid it will ruin the films for you. This si one fo those films. I think you need to see it for yourself to really know the true awesomeness of the film and why it has been so loved over the years.

I hope that during the course of this series these film suggestions have helped you in you search for the best Halloween Horror films. If anything else I hope this will give you some tips for next year.

Hellraiser is a great horror film that is truly a masterpiece of the genre, maybe not exactly my thing, but I can appreciate the films perks and what it does for the genre.
