War is coming in Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon. However Sony Pictures Releasing have released the film’s second Trailer which teases the ‘true power’ is not Napoleon Bonaparte, but Vanessa Kirby’s Josephine.
Ridley Scott does love his epic historical films, Gladiator, Kingdom of Haven and more recently The Last Duel. Now add the legendary French Tyrant who became notorious warmonger played by Joaquin Phoenix. The film will document the rise and fall of the French emperor and his volatile relationship with his one true love Josephine (Kirby).
“You want to be great. But you are nothing without me.” says Empress Joséphine to her husband. Her first husband Alexandre, Viscount of Beauharnais got executed with a children seized. You can call her a survivor who would do anything to get into power, did she truly love him? This promo does play on the romance side of things and Kirby looks very alluring so does this film!

Napoleon will arrive in UK, Irish and U.S Cinemas from 22nd November.
