Next month Australian coming of age dance drama, The Red Shoes: Next Step will arrive in UK Cinemas. Today Dazzler Media have released the film’s emotionally intense UK Trailer.
The first thing when I asked ‘Does this share any connection to the classic Powell & Pressburger’s The Red Shoes?’ Thankfully not, that doesn’t mean to say this film isn’t any good or that film has inspired it.
The film stars Juliet Doherty and Lauren Esposito. Doherty is Sam, a young woman who quits her dance school thanks to a tragic, devastating event. Things start to get worse for her, when she must serve community service for a petty crime. Ironically for her she must serve as a cleaner at the academy she left…
Nervous about her upcoming performance in The Red Shoes ballet, Sam, a talented young dancer, suffers a devastating tragedy and quits her academy. After getting caught stealing, she must complete community service by cleaning the same school she abandoned. But when the new lead of the show is injured, Sam must finally confront her grief to reignite her love of ballet.
Featuring exceptional dance sequences, The Red Shoes: Next Step stars two-time gold medalist Juliet Doherty (Free Dance) and Lauren Esposito (The Conjuring 2) in a moving and ultimately uplifting story of love and healing.
The film also stars Joel Burke, Carolyn Bock, ballerina Primrose Kern, dancer Ashleigh Ross, Mietta White, and Nicholas Andrianakos.
The Red Shoes: Next Step will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 21st July.
